Fright Night Double Feature: Halloween and The Tingler
The historic Newtown Theatre will present a Fright Night Double Feature, screening “Halloween” (1978) and “The Tingler” (1959) on Friday, October 25 at 7:30 PM.
During this special event, the theatre will have a doctor and nurse stationed in the lobby to aid any patrons who are overcome by fear. The night will also feature a drink special, Halloween decorations, and other fun and frightening surprises.
Directed by John Carpenter and featuring the film debut of Jamie Lee Curtis, “Halloween” tells the tale of Michael Myers as he stalks teenage babysitter Laurie Strode and her friends. The film is considered one of the greatest and most influential horror films of all time.
“The Tingler” is a campy cult film that was directed by William Castle and starred Vincent Price. The film tells the story of a scientist who discovers a parasite in human beings, called a “tingler,” which feeds on fear. The creature earned its name by making the spine of its host “tingle” when the host is frightened.
Online tickets for this special double-feature are $15 per person or $10 for theatre members. Drink and concessions packages are also available.
