Join WHYY’s Studio 2 for a free, fun-filled event at the historic Newtown Theatre in Bucks County where we’ll debate holiday movies and crown the ‘Studio 2 All-time Greatest Holiday Movie Spectacular Extravaganza Champion.’
WHAT’S THE GREAT HOLIDAY MOVIE SPECTACULAR EXTRAVAGANZA?
WHYY’s Studio 2 hosts Avi Wolfman-Arent and Cherri Gregg will be joined by panelists Bedatri D. Choudhury, Arts and Entertainment Editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer and Dan McQuade, Visual Editor at Defector.com, former staff writer for Philadelphia Magazine.
Each will choose favorite holiday movies in three categories: ‘Oldies but Goodies’ (Before 1990), ‘Modern Classics’ (1990-Present) and ‘Is it Really a Holiday movie?’ We’ll play clips from each film and the panel will rely on audience participation as they make the case for their picks and whittle down the list to choose a champion.
In the weeks leading up to the event, Studio 2 invites you to vote for your favorite holiday film. The top vote getter not picked by our panel will be included automatically in the final round. Cast your vote by sending a note to Studio2@whyy.org.
The event will also feature holiday music performed by a live band.
